Temporary Works

Engineering solutions for temporary structures supporting safe and efficient construction delivery.

Peritas provides temporary works engineering solutions supporting safe, efficient, and practical construction delivery across infrastructure, industrial, commercial, and mining projects. Our expertise includes the design of temporary structures such as shoring systems, scaffolding support, formwork, propping, lifting systems, and access platforms required during construction phases.

We work closely with contractors, builders, and project stakeholders to develop engineered temporary solutions that ensure stability, compliance, and constructability throughout all stages of construction. Our focus is on delivering practical designs that integrate seamlessly with permanent works while minimising risk, delays, and on-site complexity.

With experience across a wide range of complex construction environments, we understand the importance of sequencing, load paths, and site constraints. Our solutions are tailored to project-specific requirements, ensuring safe access, structural integrity, and efficient installation.

Temporary Works Engineering FAQs

When do you need a temporary works engineer?

Whenever a structure has to stand up during construction in a condition it was never designed for. That covers shoring an excavation, propping a slab, supporting formwork and falsework, staging a demolition, or holding a bridge deck while it is being built or removed. The earlier the temporary works engineer is involved, the more the design can be shaped around the contractor’s preferred methodology rather than working around it.

Can Peritas be engaged directly by the contractor?

Yes. We are regularly engaged directly by contractors and builders to design temporary works alongside a separate permanent works designer, and we also carry both scopes where the client prefers a single engineering partner.

What do you provide during construction?

Design documentation, construction phase inspections, shop drawing review and compliance certification. Our focus is on solutions that integrate with the permanent works while minimising risk, delays and on site complexity.

Do you work on live and operational sites?

Design documentation, construction phase inspections, shop drawing review and compliance certification. Our focus is on solutions that integrate with the permanent works while minimising risk, delays and on site complexity.

Where are your civil engineers based?

Our civil engineers are based in Perth and Melbourne and deliver projects nationally across a range of sectors.
