High Performance Floors

At Peritas, we are dedicated to using our extensive experience in the industrial market to scope, plan, design, supervise and certify structural concrete slabs.

We engage with owners and operators throughout the process to identify the appropriate solutions to what is the most important investment in an industrial or commercial facility.

WHAT IT MEANS

A flat and level floor will allow the efficient and safe operation of materials handling equipment (MHE).

To gain confidence around the ability of the slab to withstand abrasion and provide a serviceable life, accelerated resistance testing can be carried out immediately following construction to ensure compliance with the project specification. This confirmation of floor flatness and levelness during construction provides confidence that future operations will not be impacted.

Future proof facilities to meet the requirements of tomorrow's tenants.

WHY YOU NEED IT

ICON-1-TIME

Optimal speed of operation leads to increased efficiency for lift trucks

ICON-2-QUALITY

Reduction in downtime and elevated maintenance requirements resulting from uneven surfaces

ICON-3-SAFETY

Emphasising Health & Safety measures contribute to minimising driver fatigue

Phase 1 Scoping and Design

Prior to construction, Peritas offer project scope review, design and third party review to ensure owners have the appropriate solution for their facility and are future-proofed for tomorrow's tenants.

  • Workshop current and future operational requirements
  • Confirm the floor loading requirements
  • Incorporate recommended wording into PPR or brief document

Phase 2 Supervision

Peritas offer independent pour supervision services to ensure the contractor's works meet the requirements of the brief, design drawings and specifications.

  • Supervision of contractor QA processes

Phase 3 Certification Testing

Peritas offer post-pour compliance to validate that the floor meets the requirements set out in the brief. The aim of this testing is to confirm that the slab will be functionally fit for purpose and durable for its life against wear.

Flatness and levelness testing ensures the slab meets operational requirements for racking, forklifts, or any automated robotic equipment. Abrasion resistance testing confirms that the slab is hard enough to resist the wearing effects of vehicles traversing the slab. Peritas will also inspect post-pour concrete strength testing to ensure that the concrete grade meets or exceeds the requirements set out in the design.

  • Accelerated abrasion testing is carried out in accordance with BS EN 13892-4:2002
  • Testing results allow us to classify the floor in accordance with BS 8204-2, which will provide a guide to the floor's ability to resist wear from traffic and thus, the life of the floor

Phase 4 Maintenance

To maintain the performance and lifespan of your concrete slab, Peritas recommend annual inspections, crack monitoring, and remedial diagnosis and repair where required. Our maintenance services ensure the lifecycle of the project is maximised and any remedial works are undertaken with the highest care.

  • Thorough visual inspection to ensure joints are performing per design and to diagnose cracking early to allow remediation before costly deterioration occurs
